In the heart of Athens’ historic center, at Parthenonos Street, a striking two-story neoclassical residence from 1927 has been meticulously restored by the Siaini Architecture team. Overlooking the Acropolis, the building was the owners’ ancestral home, and the renovation aimed to revive its original grandeur with full respect for its architectural heritage.

The restoration preserved both the interior layout and the original architectural elements. Wooden floors were either refurbished or replaced with identical solid wood flooring. Ornate ceiling moldings were reproduced using custom molds, and the French-style tiled roof was rebuilt. Original external shutters and interior doors were restored or replicated using carved solid wood, remaining true to the building’s character.

Functional Layout with a Blend of Tradition and Modernity
The duplex includes a shared main entrance and two independent residences. The ground-floor residence features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a WC, and separate rooms for the kitchen, dining, and living areas, all connected by wooden doors. A small auxiliary basement is accessed through an internal staircase. The first-floor residence includes two bedrooms, a study, kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and WC, and also has access via an exterior spiral staircase leading directly into the kitchen.
The interior staircase and the imposing enclosed wooden staircase provide direct access to the upper floors, while the open metal staircase on the ground floor elegantly combines modern elements with traditional architecture.

Neoclassical Elegance Meets Modern Comfort
The interior design approach blends neoclassical aesthetics with modern comfort. Carefully selected light fixtures, furniture, and materials (wood, marble, brass) enhance the authenticity of the space. Kitchens were crafted in a neoclassical style with marble finishes, while vintage appliances and antique furnishings contribute to a unique living atmosphere. The renovation delivers a refined balance between classical elegance and contemporary living, offering residents a distinctive experience in the historic core of Athens.
