Nestled on the northern coast of Zakynthos, amidst rugged cliffs and the deep blue waters of the Ionian Sea, the Private Seaside Residence in Mikro Nisi designed and built by Siaini Architecture redefines the dialogue between architecture and landscape.
Rooted in the vernacular stone-building tradition yet expressed through a contemporary lens, the residence embodies a modern Mediterranean ethos of balance, light, and material honesty.
The architectural composition evolves around the dual notions of privacy and community, articulated through a series of interwoven indoor and outdoor spaces. The hexagonal geometry — inspired by the natural precision of the honeycomb — informed the project’s spatial organization, guiding both the masterplan and the micro-scale detailing, from the pathways and pergolas to the openings that frame the horizon.
Natural local materials such as rough-hewn Zakynthian stone, oak wood, and white plaster dominate the palette, while bespoke lighting and handcrafted details add warmth and authenticity. The result is a residence that celebrates simplicity through sophistication, combining the tactile richness of traditional craftsmanship with the clarity of modern design.
Infinity Pool and Outdoor Living
Designed to accommodate up to twenty guests, the villa unfolds over multiple levels that converge around a central open-air core — the heart of the residence — featuring an infinity pool, outdoor dining and BBQ area, yoga deck, open-air cinema, and a Mediterranean garden cultivated with local herbs and vegetables.
Every space is oriented toward the sea, ensuring seamless continuity between architecture and nature.
